Be Part of Victoria’s Poetry Month

Victoria has been ranked as the most romantic city in Canada by everyone from the Huffington Post to Amazon Canada. The majestic combination of ocean and mountain views accentuate a dynamic landscape populated by gardens, tree-lined streets, and heritage buildings.

Is it any wonder then that it serves as an inspirational focal point for artists of all stripes, including poets? Victoria has its own Poet Laureate, Yvonne Blomer, and for the second time Victoria also has its own Youth Poet Laureate, Zoe Duhaime.

This April come and join us in celebrating Poetry Month with free, ekphrastic events designed to bring art, poetry, and the community together. Ekphrastic (pronounced ek-fras-tic) is a Greek word meaning ‘a conversation between two pieces of art.’

There will be a walking tour of downtown on Saturday, April 25 where poets will read an original piece in response to downtown art piece.

All you have to do to take part in this unique event is just step out of our front doors at The Victoria Regent.
