Celebrate Halloween in one of Canada’s Most Haunted Cities

One of Victoria’s biggest claims to fame is that it is the most haunted city in British Columbia, and what better place to celebrate the year’s spookiest holiday than in our spooky town?

The Victoria Regent is just around the corner from some of the town’s most haunted sites, including Bastion Square (the site of Victoria’s original city jail and gallows is riddled with ghosts of prisoners past) and Chinatown (Fan Tan Alley is notoriously paranormal, but if you get too scared you can always take refuge under The Gates of Harmonious Interest). Rogers Chocolates on Government street is also reportedly haunted by the ghosts of founders Charles and Leah Rogers, who are famous for spooking staff by rearranging window displays and tossing milk chocolates on the ground.

Learn more about Victoria’s Haunted History with a Ghostly Walks Halloween Tour offered nightly from October 11 through November 3.

For a more family-friendly way to spend Halloween, take your tiny trick-or-treaters to the Public Market on October 31 from 10 AM – 6 PM! All the regular vendors will be stocked up with goodies for your goblins and ghouls. Other Halloween activities include Atomic Vaudeville Halloween Cabaret – “It’s a Mystery” at the Victoria Event Centre and a series of Halloween parties at some of downtown Victoria’s hotspots including Irish Times, The Strath, and the Bard & the Banker.

Have a safe & fun Halloween!
