Happy Holidays from the Victoria Regent!

Happy holidays, Victoria Regent family!

Here are the top three things we recommend our guests do when visiting Victoria during the holiday season.

  1. Check out Habitat for Humanity’s annual Gingerbread Showcase – Every year, Habitat for Humanity hosts a fundraiser known as the Gingerbread Showcase. Talented bakers create beautiful gingerbread houses for our viewing pleasure. This year, the theme is “Coastal Living”, where bakers will endeavor to reflect the beautiful environment around Victoria. The event is raising money for a building project in North Saanich. For more information, please visit https://www.habitatvictoria.com/gingerbread2020.html.
  2. Take a walking tour of Old Victoria at Christmas – What better way to get into the Christmas spirit than to learn about the history of Christmas in Victoria (while looking at the beautiful light displays downtown)? Walking tours at Christmastime will be guided by a local with an abundance of knowledge about Christmas in Victoria, as well as First Nations legends and stories about Emily Carr in her childhood. For more information, please visit https://www.clippervacations.com/activities/victoria/.
  3. Support small businesses while you Christmas shop – This holiday season is crucial for the wellness of Victoria’s small businesses. When you visit Victoria this Christmas, consider shopping for your gifts at our many eclectic, artisan boutiques. From hundreds of stories at Russell’s Books to funky footwear at Baggins Shoes, you’re sure to find a gift for everyone at any number of our wonderful shops. We hope your holiday season is filled with light and laughter!
