Moss Street “Paint In” This Weekend

Attracting 40,000 visitors annually the Moss Street Paint-In, one of Vancouver Island’s largest summer art festivals hosted by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, is back for its 35th year! Join the celebration and watch Moss Street transform into a vibrant showcase of Vancouver and Gulf Islands artists’ creativity on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 from 11 AM to 6 PM

Here’s how to make the most of your day at the festival:

1. Participate in “Painting The Town”

Over 160 artists from Vancouver Island will be set up, showcasing their work. Explore the vast array of paintings, sculptures, drawings, and ceramics.

2. Get Hands-On With Interactive Activities

There will be eight Imagination Stations with interactive art activities for all ages! Bring your furry friends by the Bosley’s by Pet Valu station to get ‘paws on’ with some pet painting.

3. Explore Canadian Art

From 10 AM to 6 PM, the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria will offer four free curator-guided tours of current Canadian art exhibitions. Admission is by donation (with cash or card), supporting the museum’s educational program for students pursuing careers in arts and culture across British Columbia.

4. Enjoy Refreshments and Live Entertainment

Adjacent to the Art Gallery, on the Shampoo Hair Bar stage, there will be pop-up performances all day. There will also be a Family Friendly Beer Garden where you can savour products from local breweries and restaurants.
