Summer Festivals

From paint-ins and boat races to dance and music festivals, Victoria is a vibrant summer city. The warmer time of year features daily events across the Capital Region and a constant array of festivals every week.

Some of our favourites include Jazz Fest (June 23-July 2) hosted just down the street from the Regent, the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival (August 18-20), and Symphony Splash (August 6), which turns the entire Inner Harbour into an amazing outdoor auditorium. If you’re a fan of theatre the Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival (August 23-September 5) is a huge event each year, with shows in dozens of venues across the city. The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria has a Paint-In every July. Rock the Shores (July 21-23) and the Phillips Backyard Weekender (July 7-9) bring a variety of artists from around the world to our city each year.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what Victoria offers when it comes to festivals, and we didn’t even get to talking about food. If you enjoy a culturally rich city filled with activities, a summer visit to Victoria may be just what you’re looking for.

And the best part? We’re right in the Inner Harbour, in the heart of it all!
