VIC REGENT PICKS: NEW DOWNTOWN EATS, PART 2

With a restaurant scene as vibrant as that of any large city, there’s always something new brewing – or cooking – in Victoria. So much so that food becomes not just one of our favourite talks, but one that we revisit again and again.

A handful of new gems have opened in the downtown area of late, all within short walking distance of the Regent’s front doors, starting with El Furniture Warehouse just two minutes down the street. Offering a great selection of cheap eats (everything for $5!), this Vancouver-based franchise is a fresh addition to Lower Yates.

Those looking for a new spot for some after work or late-night cocktails should check out Clarke & Co on Blanshard in the old location of The Clay Pigeon, across the street from The Royal Theatre. Great spot for a few drinks after a show, and about 10 to 15 minutes from our concierge.

Finally, a vegan butcher(!?) recently opened on Douglas Street just five minutes away: The Very Good Butchers. Yes, you read that right – a vegan butcher. Using 100% organic and plant-based products, they have a selection of meat-like dishes that will make you swear you’re eating the real thing, cruelty free.

Just a few new downtown eats in Victoria! Stay tuned for more…
